your org's secret inventory just became an exportable dataset. github enterprise added credential inventory exports on september 21, with a csv download and rest api for everything found in your authentication security settings.
leaked credentials are now a report, not a rumor.
Context
GitHub's changelog of September 21, 2026 says GitHub Enterprise adds credential inventory exports. It is available now for GitHub Enterprise Cloud and is said to be supported in upcoming releases of GitHub Enterprise Server. It covers every credential that can access the enterprise, listing SSH keys, classic and fine-grained personal access tokens, OAuth App access tokens and GitHub App user-to-server and installation tokens, with metadata such as owners, scopes and permissions, creation and expiration dates, last-used dates and target organizations or repositories. Enterprise owners and members with the fine-grained permission View enterprise credentials can export a CSV from the enterprise Authentication Security settings, and there is a paginated REST API.
This is an inventory of credential metadata and not of secret values, and it is not a leaked-secret scan, so nothing in the text ties it to leak detection. The stated use is incident response, to assess exposure and plan remediation. It is Cloud now and Server later. API endpoint names and rate limits were not read. Leaked credentials are now a report, not a rumor is the author's line.
