your openapi mock just learned to remember. specmatic 1.27.0, released september 7, seeds an in-memory resource store so create, update, and delete calls keep their state across requests.
contract tests just got closer to the real thing.
Context
The Specmatic Enterprise release notes list 1.27.0 on 2026-09-07 as adding stateful OpenAPI mocking through type: stateful-mock in the Specmatic config, seeding an in-memory resource store from inline and external examples and preserving create, update and delete semantics across requests. The stateful mocking docs define a stateful mock as remembering resources created, updated or deleted by earlier requests, for use while the actual API is unavailable.
The release notes are the Enterprise ones, and the docs page is labelled Commercial with a prerequisite to configure a Specmatic Enterprise license, so this is not shown to be in an open-source distribution and is not confirmed free. In-memory is the release note's own wording, and durability across restarts was not read, so no restart durability is claimed. Contract tests just got closer to the real thing is the author's line.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
