video pricing just hit a new floor. creatify's boreal, out september 15, charges one cent for every second of video it generates, and it's their second in-house model.
the unit economics of video are collapsing faster than anyone expected.
Context
Creatify's own post of September 15, 2026 introduces Boreal, a text and image to video model priced at one cent per second, about $0.05 for a five-second clip, at 720p-class output. fal.ai, which hosts it, lists $0.01 per second at 720p, $0.03 at 1080p and $0.12 at 2K. The post compares it with Seedance 2.0 (12 times cheaper at the benchmarked price) and H3 Max (roughly eight times more per five-second clip at launch-day list price). It says Boreal is built on an open-source video model and post-trained by Creatify.
One cent per second is the 720p tier, and the higher fal.ai tiers cost more. Whether Creatify's own plans carry the same tiers was not inspected. The price comparisons are Creatify's, at its own list-price snapshots. No survey of other low-cost video models was found, so a new floor or cheapest claim is not established. The Creatify Labs page names Aurora and Boreal as its latest models, which fits a second model, but the text read does not state the ordinal, and in-house sits oddly beside a post-trained open base. The 81% preference over its base and the parity claim with Seedance 2.0 are vendor-reported.
