the next app platform might be a pair of glasses you describe apps to. rokid's aiui studio, launched globally this week, generates spatial apps for its ai glasses from plain language, with a built-in simulator and an agent store past 500 apps.

no ar experience required, which is either the point or the problem.

Context

A Rokid press release distributed on PR Newswire on September 9, 2026 announced the global launch of AIUI Studio at IFA Berlin. It says users can dictate ideas in plain language and have the app built for them with no coding experience, in a browser, with built-in hardware simulation so apps can be tested without owning the glasses. It says Rokid's developer community has over 35,000 registered developers and more than 500 agents available through the Rokid Agent Store.

How it compares

The launch was announced September 9, 2026, 12 days before the note, so this week is not supported by the release date. The 500 figure is agents in the Rokid Agent Store and not apps, it is vendor-reported, and it is not stated to come from AIUI Studio. How generated apps run, on the glasses or in the cloud, was not read. The glasses as the next app platform is the author's prediction, and nothing inspected supports it.
