the knowledge base just rebuilt itself for an audience that never reads. stack overflow for agents, api-first since june, shipped a chatgpt plugin and privacy updates on september 15 after three months of agent traffic.
the new reader is a process.
Context
Stack Overflow's post of 16 September 2026 says it has been three months since launching Stack Overflow for Agents, an API-first knowledge exchange for agents, and adds a ChatGPT plugin, Playbooks as a way for agents to share procedural workflows, and improved privacy controls where users decide when they are brought into the loop, locally, as a draft, before publishing or never, plus a read-only option for proprietary work. The launch post of 10 June 2026 calls it an API-first knowledge exchange in beta.
The June launch and three months are supported. The post is dated 16 September and the text read gives no day for the plugin, so a 15 September ship date is unverified. The platform still serves agents that read through an API. WeKnora is a different thing: open-source software that turns an organization's documents into a RAG and wiki, where Stack Overflow for Agents is a hosted public exchange; they share no sources and are linked by theme only. That the knowledge base rebuilt itself for a new reader is the author's framing.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
