react just stabilized the two features frontend devs kept begging for. react 19.3, out september 9, makes view transitions and fragment refs stable, plus adds trusted types support in the dom.

the web's most conservative framework finally shipped the fun parts.

Context

The React blog post dated September 9, 2026 says React 19.3 adds View Transitions, Fragment Refs, browser(), Trusted Types and more. It says View Transitions and Fragment Refs, shared a year earlier as experimental APIs, are now stable in React 19.3, and that React 19.3 integrates with the browser Trusted Types API, a defense against DOM-based XSS.

How it compares

The stable promotion of the two features and the date are supported. The details and any opt-in for Trusted Types were not fully examined. The post also adds a browser() function to opt out of server-side rendering, and notes that a View Transition animates on enter and exit only when first in its subtree and that shared names must be unique. Some example package versions in the post show a canary string, which is example code and not a release statement. Kept begging for is the author's framing.
