observability just bought agent monitoring. dynatrace acquired arize ai on september 11, folding ai evaluation and agent telemetry into its application platform.
monitoring stopped being about humans reading dashboards.
Context
Dynatrace's press release of August 13, 2026 says it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Arize in a cash and stock transaction valued at $915 million, subject to customary adjustments, expected to close later that quarter or early in its third quarter subject to regulatory reviews. A Dynatrace release of October 1, 2026 says it has completed the acquisition. Two secondary write-ups dated September 11, 2026 were seen as snippets.
At the time of the note, September 22, the record shows a signed deal and not a closed one, since completion was announced on October 1, a later window. Acquired on september 11 is not supported as a signing or closing date, and September 11 appears only in secondary write-ups. The $915 million is a transaction value and not funding or a valuation of Arize. Folding evaluation and agent telemetry into the platform is plan language, and integration detail was not inspected. Monitoring stopped being about humans reading dashboards is the author's take.
