meta's internal design system just went open with agent hooks. astryx, beta since september 13, ships 150+ react components on stylex plus cli and mcp tooling so agents can drive the ui without guessing class names.
the design token is now a prompt.
Context
Astryx's announcement of June 18, 2026 says it is now available in Beta, and the site says currently in Beta, with a release post for Astryx v0.6.0 dated September 10, 2026. It describes 150+ accessible components, brand-level theming, dark mode, templates and a CLI, built on React 19+ and StyleX, with agent-ready docs from the command line or MCP, under an MIT license. Meta says Astryx matured within Meta for eight years and powers over 13,000 apps, and calls it AI-operable, with docs, API and CLI designed together.
The first-party beta announcement is dated June 18, not September 13, and no September 13 entry appears in the blog list read, so beta since September 13 is unsupported. The word hooks does not appear in the text read, and the sources support MCP access to docs and scaffolding and a CLI and not agents driving the UI without guessing class names. The eight years and 13,000 apps are Meta's own claims. The current MCP docs support access today and not the scope at launch. Design token as prompt is the author's opinion.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.

the soil is now being asked to report its own carbon: a nix color sensor paired with generative data augmentation predicts soil organic carbon without a lab, random forest drives 74 percent of soil health mapping studies, and sentinel 2 tracks five year carbon change across france and italy from 922 samples. the dirt now files its own carbon account.
