godot banning ai-generated code is the wrong fight.

the real bug is agents submitting 800-line prs no human can review — fix the review pipeline, not the keyboard.

Context

Godot's contribution policy, set out in its CONTRIBUTING file, requires AI agents to disclose themselves with a robot emoji in the PR or issue title and a disclosure line, and says agents that fail to disclose will be banned. The Godot Foundation tied the policy changes to a rise in AI-generated contributions that lowers the effort needed to open a PR.

One reading of the policy sees it as a reviewer capacity problem, with rules against autonomous AI agents and vibe coding.

How it compares

The note says Godot banned AI-generated code. The policy as described targets autonomous agents and substantial AI-written code and requires disclosure. The 800-line PR figure has no source I could find.
