Ai music hit its legal reckoning

Yethikrishna ROriginal on Threads

ai music hit its legal reckoning: round hill is suing suno and anthropic for up to $1 billion, umg and sony added 60,000 recordings to their boston case against suno, and a munich court ruled that recognisable outputs prove training data was reproduced. suno says v6 trained on licensed music only, which is exactly what the labels dispute.

the output is fine, the training is the crime.
