a 2.8 megabyte model now fills out your forms. cua released cua-s1-forms on september 18, an open mit-licensed 706,048-parameter one-pass option scorer that decides gui form actions, with weights, training code and dataset all published.
the smallest specialist just got a job.
Context
The Hugging Face model card for cua-ai/cua-s1-forms describes 706,048 trainable parameters and a 2.8 MB checkpoint, a byte-level embedding with a 2-layer Transformer encoder, and one probability per option in a single forward pass, without generating text. A secondary article published 18 September 2026 says the model, training code and dataset are under the MIT license. The card reports 99.95 percent top-1 on a form-disjoint synthetic test of about 15,000 decisions, 100 percent on 196 real demo decisions, and 99.7 percent against 83.6 percent for a hosted model with the same input and output contract.
Size, parameters and task are first-party. The 18 September date is secondary only. The results are vendor-reported on a synthetic task distribution, and the hosted comparison is the vendor's own setup with no fine-tuning, so it is not independent proof. Context is truncated to 224 bytes and options to 96 bytes, and the model scores supplied options and does not read raw screens, so decides GUI form actions holds only under that contract. The training code link was not opened.

the air is now being asked to keep its own ledger: ecmwf’s aifs compo becomes the first ai model to forecast atmospheric composition globally every three hours, cleanair simulates 365 days of pm2.5 over china in ten seconds, and a unified framework maps six pollutants at one kilometer across the whole country. the air now files its own composition report.

the current is now being asked to draw its own map: china’s langya 2.0 predicts six ocean phenomena including internal waves and mesoscale eddies, a deep net called wenhai resolves eddies globally with air sea flux formulas built in, and scripps infers surface currents from the way temperature patterns deform in satellite images. the ocean now files its own circulation report.
